Main Types of Coal Drying Equipment

Based on differences in structure and operation, coal drying equipment can be mainly classified into the following categories:

1. Rotary Dryer

A rotary dryer is a common type of coal drying equipment. It consists of a cylinder, support device, transmission device, and heat source system. The coal rotates continuously inside the cylinder, while hot air enters from one end and exits from the other end after the moisture is evaporated. The advantages of a rotary dryer are its simple structure, ease of operation, and suitability for medium-scale coal drying tasks.

2. Fluidized Bed Dryer

A fluidized bed dryer uses a high-speed airflow to suspend the coal in the air, causing the coal particles to be in a fluidized state for drying. This method has high drying efficiency and good thermal energy utilization, and is suitable for drying coal with fine particle size. Its structure is relatively compact, making it suitable for continuous production in multiple batches.

3. Fixed Bed Dryer

In a fixed bed dryer, the coal is stationary or moves slowly inside the equipment, and is dried by hot air. It has a simple structure, is easy to maintain, and is suitable for processing large quantities of coal, especially in applications requiring continuous drying.

4. Rotary Disc Dryer

A rotary disc dryer uses a high-speed rotating disc to evenly spread coal and utilizes airflow for drying. This type of equipment has a large hot air coverage area and provides uniform drying, making it suitable for drying tasks with specific requirements.
